The Swedish Association for Reconstructive Microsurgery was founded on April 23, 2010


The aim of the association is to support the development of reconstructive microsurgery in Sweden through seminars and training; likewise to foster debate around scientific and organizational issues, and to safeguard the interests of the subspecialty and its members


Specialist plastic surgeons with a Swedish medical license can be elected members.  Other specialty doctors with a microsurgical interest. Residents in training are also eligable to apply for membership

The colour choices of blue and yellow represent the colours in the Swedish flag


The symbol itself symbolizes a crown, and its three parts further represent "three crowns", the national symbol of Sweden
